Mineral Eye Shadow

Mineral eye shadow is the bomb!  So much so that I totally didn't mind dropping that line on here!

There is a tie for my top pick!  While I don't normally recommend expensive beauty products, these are truly worth it!  Because of the mineral compounds the eye shadow is made up of, it doesn't go stale like the typical shadow you would use.  Also, because of how finally ground it is, it will last you a very long time, like 6 - 9 months of daily use.  It goes on light and doesn't leave your eyelids feeling heavy.

But here is the real clincher!  You can use these powders in many different ways! Not just for eye shadow!  Add it to clear nail polish to make your nails and eyes match, if you dare.  You can add it to clear lip baum to make a pretty lip gloss or you can use it as blush as well!

First up is the first brand I ever discovered, Lise Watier.  At the time ( 5 years ago ) mineral powder was a fairly new product on the market so the colours were limited to about 8 different colours. But I still picked up 3 of the shades and still use them for a night on the town if need be! They now have a selection of 15 different shades.

The next is one I noticed is only sold at those novelty carts you see in the lane ways of the malls at Christmas time, Micabella.  They generally sell the small sets of 8 colours for about 65.00.  Which is actually a steal when you price out mineral powder eye shadow.  Also, they have 108 different shades to choose from! Talk about eye shadow heaven!

The third can be found at any Hudson's Bay Company or Sears, Make Up Forever.  They also have a large selection of shades but their website isn't as easy to navigate.  However, the product does speak for itself!

Allow yourself to feel a little glamorous with these beautiful shadows!

Peace, love and chocolate!

Sally Hansen: Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear

What girl doesn't love having her nails painting in her favorite colour?

While I have tried many brands, an assortment of colours and prices, this I believe is the successful candidate for my favorite polish!

Sally Hansen's XtremeWear is the clear winner.

Sally Hansen is a well known company that produces a great deal of beauty products, however, they are best known for their nail beauty products.

I chose this particular brand for several reasons, it's inexpensive ( 2.00 to 3.00 ), can be found at most department stores (Walmart, Zellers, Target) and it lasts through a lot of wear and tear.  If you are like me you aren't delicate with your hands, you wash dishes and clean the house gloveless.  Just a couple coats of this polish and your nails last at least a week and a half.

Now I know you can go to a salon and purchase a salon brand and get the same quality effect but I know as much as I love nail polish I just can't afford to pay 10.00 to 20.00 dollars per bottle.  I also love variety which means I would want to buy so many bottles to ensure I had a shade to go with any outfit combination.  XtremeWear allows me to have that variety without breaking the bank.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
